16.00 - 17.30 Yachts available for collection from the Solwey Challenge 2010 (desk opens) at our charter partners Britannia Events offices at Port Hamble Marina.

Crews can either travel to Port Hamble Wednesday evening staying on the boats (crew can enjoy an informal evening at the Banana Wharf quay side Bar and Restaurant or one of the many local pubs and restaurants - alternatively crews can arrive at 07.00 on Thursday 1st July.

Thursday 1st July 2010

07.00 Solwey Challenge 2010 Regatta Desk opens at Britannia’s offices, Port Hamble Marina.

08.00 Breakfast on board your yacht.

08.15 Skippers briefing on the quayside.

08.30 Crew Safety briefing on board.

08.45 Depart mooring for sail training and familiarisation.

10.00 Passage Race - your finish line is approximately 60 nautical miles from The Hamble. Racing through The Solent, past the needles into Poole Bay and along the stunning Jurassic Coast to arrive at Weymouth Bay home of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Sailing Events.

20.00 Passage prize giving, evening meal at the Portland Marina Pub and networking.

Crews can stay on board yachts or at local accommodation (not included in package).

Friday 2nd July 2010

09.00 Breakfast is served on board yachts - welcome any new crew member’s and review crew safety.

09.15 Skippers race briefing on quayside.

09.30 Yachts depart moorings for pre-race practice.

10.30 Race one of three under instruction from the race committee.

12.00 Yachts anchor in Weymouth Bay - lunch on board and time for a swim.

13.30 Races two and three under instruction from the race committee.

16.30 Yachts moor in preparation for the Challenge Regatta Party. Full shower and changing facilities are available for crew members in the marina or transport to hotel.

19.30 Challenge Party & Prizegiving

20.00 Challenge dinner is served.

21.30 Prize giving ceremony

12.00 Party finishes - (subject to stamina)

Saturday 3rd July 2010

Options:

10.00 Free sail - The yachts will be returning to The Solent and you are welcome to join in for a casual sail back with friends and family, or partake of the opportunity to organise your own competitive cruise. *

Guests not free sailing back the The Solent can take part in a choice of activities including sailing lessons, spa treatments, sea kayaking, heritage walk & tour or simply enjoy the relaxed atmosphere on the Isle of Portland (not included in package).

There will be transport laid on leaving around 4pm back to The Hamble to meet up with the arrival back of the fleet, a small contribution will be required to cover cost of transport.

*In the event of adverse weather the event organisers reserve the right to reschedule the passage race to Saturday 3rd and the fun sail to Thursday 1st.
