With around 20 yachts racing from The Solent then in the 2012 Olympic sailing waters of Weymouth Bay over 3 days and almost every top marine defence and ocean technology company in the UK invited, the Solwey Challenge is set to be the main social and sporting event for these high profile communities with an ambition to be the largest yachting event of its type in the calendar.
Entry is open to competitors of all levels of experience and to crews from any marine defence or ocean technology based company, their clients and of course their suppliers. Building on existing relationships with the opportunity to forge new alliances and friendships within an industry that already enjoys very succesful collaborations is what The Solwey Challenge is all about.
The Solwey Challenge has a comprehensive itinerary, combining a full training and racing program with many social and networking opportunities including the challenge prize giving party.
Starting in The Solent the worlds most famous sailing region and ending in Weymouth Bay, the sailing venue for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games guarantees and extraordinary event which will last in the memory for many years to come.
